Always a Feast at Max’s

When it opened its 154th branch in the City of Gentle People last October 2015, the giant restaurant chain Max’s captured the hearts and taste buds of many Dumaguetenos and Negrenses. Since then, it has become a popular choice of a venue among those celebrating special milestones in their lives. It is now a place where family and friends come together over good food and good times, and that’s why it’s always a feast at Max’s Dumaguete.

Recently, the Food Trip Dumaguete team visited Max’s Dumaguete and boy, were we in for a feast. As an appetizer, we had camote fries, a Filipino twist to the western potato fries and Chicken Sisig, which had a surprising crunch with every bite. For main dishes, we had the classic Max’s Family Chicken and Kare-kare, both equally delicious as usual. We also had Eggplant Tofu, perfect for the vegetarians and the health conscious. The food journey did not stop there. The highlight of our meal was their flavored rice: Tinapa rice, which has been on their menu for quite a while, and the Tinola rice, their brand new flavor set to launch some time in August. On its own, you can really taste the classic Filipino dishes off of these flavored rice; it almost feels as if you’re eating tinapa or having a delicious bowl of tinola that your mama used to make. So give these flavored rice a go and we guarantee that you’ll have a sumptuous meal at Max’s.
