Deliciously Healthy and Guilt Free Eating at the Lokal Organic Cafe

“You are what you eat” so they say. If this were so, then most of us here in Dumaguete would probably be tocino, lechon manok, liempo, or some fancy dish from one the restos here. You see, when you roam the streets of Dumaguete almost every corner has a “manokan”, karinderya or “tocinohan” apart from the numerous fancy restos and coffee shops scattered all over the city. However, nestled just 2 blocks away from the Belfry is a food hub that offers something new, unique and oh so fresh. It’s among the few restaurants here that cater to foodies who prefer local and organic meals. The place is definitely a haven for those who like to eat fresh and healthy food, hence its name Lokal Organic Cafe.

Café Mafioso: Good Grub for the Hungry Mob

One of my many guilty pleasures is ribs. It is what I look for in the menu of every new restaurant I go to. Lucky for me, most places in the city do serve their version of the dish. While loads of restaurants claim to have the best ribs in town, only a handful is actually worth coming back for. A couple of weeks back, my Instagram feed was flooded with photos of a hip new place downtown with a mafia-inspired dining concept. Café Mafioso piqued my curiosity after learning that they pride themselves of their “Mafioso Ribs”. After reading plenty of good reviews of the restaurant on social media, we decided to try it firsthand.
